“Little Things”

This song appears on page 125 of Bits and Pieces and More:

Little Things

1.
Despise not the day of little things,
Little birds that spread their wings,
Little flowers that bloom in spring,
The buttercup so small.
The flowing desert vast and grand
Is made of little grains of sand.
And little acorns on the ground
Make mighty oaks so tall,
And little sparrows fall.

chorous:

Ye are of more value than many sparrows.
Behold how the Lord God loveth thee;
For there’s never a sparrow,
Not one little sparrow,
Falls that He does not see.
And He feels every heartache, He shares every sorrow,
and all our tomorrows are known unto Him.
And there’s never a moment, not one little moment, His eyes are ever dim.

2.
He notices each little thing
The robin with a broken wing,
His little children suffering,
He sees and knows it all.
He knows about each little fear.
He bottles up each little tear.
Each little prayer He bends to hear,
Though faith be oh so small,
And little sparrows fall.

chorous:

Ye are of more value than many sparrows.
Behold how the Lord God loveth thee;
For there’s never a sparrow,
Not one little sparrow,
Falls that He does not see.
And He feels every heartache, He shares every sorrow,
and all our tomorrows are known unto Him.
And there’s never a moment, not one little moment, His eyes are ever dim.

3.
Our God delights in little things,
Like widows’ little offerings,
And loaves and fishes children bring
He accepts them all.
He multiplies them in His hand,
And then divides them unto man,
As little rain-drops grace the land
With streams and waterfalls,
And little sparrows fall.

chorous:

Ye are of more value than many sparrows.
Behold how the Lord God loveth thee;
For there’s never a sparrow,
Not one little sparrow,
Falls that He does not see.
And He feels every heartache, He shares every sorrow,
and all our tomorrows are known unto Him.
And there’s never a moment, not one little moment, His eyes are ever dim.

Coda:

Ye are of more value than many sparrows.
Behold how the Lord God loveth thee;
For there’s never a sparrow,
Not one little sparrow,
Falls that He does not see.
